Video - Kaden Cook; Fighting to Live
Back in 2002 with a diseased heart at 2-years-old, Kaden Cook lay on the operating table sedated, waiting for his heart transplant. After months of recovery he went on to live a nice, normal life like many kids do; family events, sports & all the things that make being a kid fun!
Fast foward to 2015, Kaden is 14-years-old & fighting a new battle at the same hospital where he got his new heart, C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Kaden has myofibrillar myopathy, a disease that attacks muscles in his body that can lead to respiratory problems & confinement to a wheelchair.
Back in 2002 Detroit Free Press reporter Jeff Seidel & I spent many months telling the story of Kaden & his family leading up to & through his heart transplant.
We recently spent time with them last week to update what has been going on as he begins this new fight.
